Welcome

Welcome to the School of Accounting, part of the College of Business at the University of Western Sydney.

Our school is responsible for teaching and learning, research, and community engagement in the disciplines of accounting and financial advising and related areas.

Our mission is to provide education in these disciplines in a professional manner, to develop the total individual (student and staff) to facilitate lifelong learning, and to contribute to the development of knowledge and knowledge dissemination.

Areas of Expertise

Our programs are accredited by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).

For example, depending on electives chosen, our Bachelor of Business & Commerce (Accounting) degree satisfies the accreditation requirements for membership of CPA Australia and for entry into their CPA program, and for entry into the Chartered Accountants program of ICAA.

History

Accounting has been offered at UWS since 1976. The School of Accounting was formed in 2000 by the amalgamation of the former Accounting departments at UWS Blacktown, Macarthur and Nepean.
