UWS Alumni Library Access

UWS Alumni GradLife Members have access to the UWS Library and a range of their facilities. The Library has set an annual $50 fee for GradLife Members. This discounted fee saves UWS Alumni GradLife Members 50% from the standard community access fee.

Steps to become an Alumni borrower

1. Become a member of GradLife online, the UWS Alumni network - membership is free!
   
2. Contact your local campus library (opens in a new window) to ensure that the services you require are offered to alumni borrowers
   
3. Pay the annual library fee
   
4. Visit your local campus library and show your GradLife card at the front desk to update the system and begin borrowing. (If you have not yet received your card, print out your email confirmation of GradLife membership and present to the Library along with photo ID).

UWS Alumni GradLife Membership Cards and Borrowing

UWS Alumni have borrowing access, after they have paid the discounted, annual $50.00 fee, upon presentation of their UWS GradLife Membership Card.

If you have not yet received your card, print out your email confirmation of GradLife membership and present to the Library along with photo ID.

Membership to GradLife is free for all UWS Alumni. To become a member of Gradlife, please complete the membership form online now.

To log-in to e-resources (opens in a new window), your login is your old student ID number, shown on the front of the card, and use the barcode number on the back of the card as your password.

Alumni Services Available

When using UWS Libraries, GradLife Members may:

• Borrow up to 25 items for a 14 day loan period per item
• Have two optional renewals for any item not requested by another Library client
• Renew items, if not requested by another Library client, online via the Library Website(Opens in a new window) or by phone.(Opens in a new window)
  
• Check the status of their loans online via the Library Website's "My Library Record" feature
• Place a hold request for an item that is on loan*
• Limited access to databases (e-resources) (opens in a new window)
  
• Use the self-checkout facility using the barcode on the new GradLife card. If your current GradLife card does not have a barcode, please request a new card online or contact the Library directly.(Opens in a new window). 
• Use the UWS Shuttle bus to access the campus. Please present your GradLife card to driver. For information on parking on campus, please visit the Parking at UWS webpage (opens in a new window) online.

Library Access Payment

The discounted $50.00 annual Library fee can paid at your chosen Library or Alumni can pay online using IPay.(Opens in a new window) Once in the IPay system Alumni should complete the following steps:

• Select "Library Membership" under the "Library" Section of the first page
• Add "Alumni Library Borrower" to your order
• Proceed to Purchase Order
