Bridges to Higher Education incorporates proven projects by Bridges university partners as well as developing innovative new projects.
Our projects include:
Developing and delivering information about higher education aimed at parents from under represented or disadvantaged communities, including the production of targeted resources and activities in the community and on campus
Two TV documentary series produced by TVS community television and aimed at children, their families and school classes
A website developed in partnership with the Universities Admissions Centre, which will fill critical information needs for students, their families and schools, and community workers
Using electronic whiteboard and videoconferencing to take classes of students on virtual visits to university campuses and research facilities and put students and teachers in touch with university researchers and academics
Development and implementation of an innovative framework to evaluate Bridges own activities and for use across the education sector
A significant area of Bridges activities, covering the proven programs of each of the five Bridges universities as well as emerging collaborative opportunities
Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in their aspiration for and access to higher education, delivered in partnership with schools, non-government organisations, elders and other community leaders
Making university more accessible and university life more understandable through activities such as visits, mentoring and support programs.
