Projects

Bridges to Higher Education incorporates proven projects of our partners as well as innovative new projects. We manage this range of activities through our project groups.

Schools Engagement Project – the largest area of Bridges activities, covering the proven programs of each of the five Bridges universities as well as emerging collaborative opportunities

Parents Project – developing and delivering information about higher education aimed at parents from communities under-represented in higher education, including a DVD and other resources in multiple languages

TVS Project – two TV documentary series produced by TVS community television and aimed at inspiring young people and mature learners to turn their passions into careers

UAC/Web Project – a website developed in partnership with the Universities Admissions Centre, which will support the critical information needs of students, their influencers and advisors

Indigenous Project – supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in their aspiration for and access to higher education, delivered in partnership with schools, non-government organisations, elders and other community leaders

Rural and Remote Project – building awareness and understanding about university, and making university more accessible, through projects such as campus visits, mentoring and support programs

Pathways Project – partnering with TAFE institutes and colleges to improve non-school pathways to higher education

Bridges Connect, Classrooms Technology Project – using advanced technology such as electronic whiteboard and videoconferencing to take classes of students on virtual visits to university campuses and research facilities and put students and teachers in touch with university researchers and academics

Evaluation Project – development and implementation of an innovative, cross-sector framework to evaluate the Bridges to Higher Education initiative
