Our Programs

UWS is actively seeking to establish itself as a living laboratory via its innovative teaching and learning pedagogies and its cutting edge research facilities. In addition, UWS has set out to practice what it teaches and its campus operations encompass carbon, waste and water reduction initiatives, sustainable procurement strategies and IT enabled communications. As a 'university of the people' (AUQA, 2006) UWS is also committed to Greater Western Sydney by actively engaging in a two-way manner with communities and businesses on the key sustainability challenges facing this diverse region. Education for Sustainability (EfS)

Education for Sustainability is a lifelong learning process that leads to an informed and involved citizenry having the creative problem-solving skills, scientific and social literacy, and commitment to engage in responsible individual and cooperative actions. These actions will help ensure an environmentally sound and economically prosperous future.
