Working and Buying Green at UWS
As part of the ongoing commitment UWS has towards sustainability and its role in environmental management, the 'Green Office Program' will enable all UWS staff to make a tangible difference in an area that accounts for a large percentage of energy, water and other resources used within the university. Campus Operations
UWS has a clear obligation to plan and implement actions for a more sustainable future, and a clear role of leadership in the future sustainability of Western Sydney. To meet this commitment in a comprehensive organised manner, UWS has an Environmental Management System (EMS) and an Environment and Risk business unit in the Capital Works and Facilities Directorate.
Each of the six UWS campuses has their own unique site and built environment characteristics. New developments and refurbishments and upgrades are to be in character and complement the existing built environment while also in keeping with each campuses master plan. Procurement at UWS
Procurement is the purchasing of goods and services. Procurement is thought to be sustainable when it integrates sustainable requirements, specifications and criteria that are compatible with our vision of being environmental sound, economically viable and socially acceptable. Earthsaver Products
UWS has negotiated to add to the UWS Corporate Express Product list a number of approved Earthsaver equivalent products that are cost neutral and give great environmental benefits. For more information, please see UWS and Corporate Express Earthsaver Partnership.
Greening UWS Product Range
To kick off Sustainability Month, uwsconnect launched their Greening UWS Range in all the stores across UWS. The range includes a total of 90 products.
