Sustainability Pledge

UWS is committed to sustainability in all of its activities - in research, learning and teaching, engagement with its region and in its campus operations and we need your help to continue this in 2013. The Office of Sustainability is supporting a student initative for our UWS staff and students to make a personal commitment to sustainability in our everyday lives.

The Office of Sustainability will be holding a series of workshops that will assist you in making these changes to help reduce the amount of clothing that goes to landfill. Sustainability UWS Rolling Fund

The Sustainability UWS Rolling Fund (SURF) is open for 2013 for UWS staff and students. SURF is a green rolling fund which provides up-front finance to staff and students to fund sustainability projects which aim to reduce environmental impacts and have quantifiable returns. Sustainability Framework

Universities and colleges worldwide are now recognising their central role in addressing the challenges of sustainability.
