Sustainability Pledges from Staff and Students
Small changes make big differences
The Sustainability Pledge is a student initiative supported by the Office of Sustainability. With the help our of UWS community we have recieved over 580 pledges during the first few weeks of Autumn semester. Below is a list of all of our pledges from UWS staff and students collected online and out on campus.
I pledge to....
Roger - continue sustainability in UWS campus operations and land management and at home to grow more fresh vegetables for my family from our garden
Cihan - Try to grow my own vegetables and promote other people to do the same in their garden. I will try and source more of my produce locally from small growers
Rachel - Turn the lights out in rooms that aren’t being used
David - Make sustainability a central factor in purchasing and consumption decisions. This means considering the whole-life impact of consumption decisions and taking an informed approach to practices that are sustainable.
Samarth - I will to save environment every step of my life.. Either its saving a single drop of water or saving a single piece of paper
Chris - Work with ITS to fix the problem with my computer so that I can print all my documents double sided
Brenda - Work in a way that is more sustainable both at Campus and in my office at home
