Computer and TV Recycling

Did you know that your computer and televison waste cannot go into your household recycling bin?

Hawkesbury City Council in partnership with TechCollect and the Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association are pleased to announce this computer and television recycling event. This is a unique opportunity to not only recycle these products, but also reduce the health and environmental risks associated with sending these items to landfill.

When: 1st -3rd March 2013
Time: 9am to 4pm
Where: The Hawkesbury Showground, Racecourse Road, Clarendon
Cost: Free

Oz Loa Pies and Rolls Workshops

Come along to our Loa Meat Free Cooking Working at the Earthcare Centre on Hawkesbury Campus. The workshop includes a garden tour, hands on and fun meal making, tips and a healing plants discussion over lunch.

1 Million Women Love Food Hate Waste Event

Come along and join Australia's first MasterChef Julie Goodwin, legendary cooking family the Fultons, ABC TV science broadcaster Bernie Hobbs, DYI Sustainability Guru Lish Fejer at the 1 Million Women FREE event.

Learn how to cook up a feast from last nights leftovers with Julie. Let Lish show you how easy it is to start your own veggie garden or worm farm. Join in on the big food waste conversation with the Fulton family.

Earth Hour Fund Raising Dinner

Parramatta Climate Action Network and Transition Parramatta invite you to celebrate Earth Hour with a candlelight dinner, movie and good conversations. The dinner will include the movie, a three course Indian buffet style dinner and soft drink. The night will also include lucky door prizes and raffle tickets.

Alive!

Alive! is an Environmental Youth Engagement Project that is unique to the Hawkesbury Region. It is an opportunity for young people aged 12-24 to engage with their local youth groups, schools, community and local businesses in taking action on local environmental issues in innovative ways.

The Hawkesbury Environmental Network (HEN) is calling on young people to take action on environmental issues facing the community including water, energy, waste, climate change and land care issues. The event will be held at UWS Hawkesbury Campus on Tuesday 5th June. The top 10 projects will receive funding up to $1000 to go towards their project. This Alive! project has been assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.

The Youth Conference will be held on the 20th and 21st February 2013 on Hawkesbury Campus. In addition there will be a screening of the Alive! documentary on 21st February at 6.30pm for the parents, students, partners and community to celebrate this great project.
