Western Sydney University Early Learning Services provides excellence in education and care located at six locations on the Western Sydney University campuses

We strive to provide the highest quality care and education for children in their early years, that will provide a strong foundation for a life time of learning. We will provide education and care that demonstrates diversity and inclusiveness. The latest research and best practice models will guide practices and inform our service delivery.

2023 WSUELL Vice Chancellor Early Learning Excellence Awards

Winner of the 2023 Vice Chancellor Early Learning Excellence Award is Jordan Wrice

As an advocate for children’s rights, Jordan demonstrates respect for all children and their families taking time to build quality, professional relationships. Jordan commenced a Bachelor of Teaching at the start of 2023 and actively shares newly learnt theory and research with his colleagues to inspire and support them. Over the past 12 months, Jordan has shown exceptional practice through his contribution and participation in his first formal research project with Early Learning which has helped Jordan to grow as an emerging teacher.

Winner of the 2022 Vice Chancellor Early Learning Excellence Award is Brooke Burke.

Brooke has excelled in providing children with detailed, deliberate, and intentional teaching and providing culturally rich learning environments. Brooke is consistently researching ideas for learning activities and uses her knowledge to engage the children and to extend their interests and critical thinking skills.

2021 WSUELL Vice Chancellor Early Learning Excellence Awards

Winner of the Vice Chancellor Early Learning Excellence Awards is Jinny Lee

In her role as the service cook, Jinny is extremely proficient, providing nutritious meals for children. Jinny is the recipient of this award in recognition of her willingness to provide learning opportunities for the children. Jinny involves the children in tending and caring for the vegetable garden, together they use the fruits and vegetables of their labour for cooking meals that the children consume.  Seeds from the crops are saved and replanted, teaching the children about sustainability and the natural world around them. Jinny also regularly involves the children in cooking experiences focussing on supporting the development of STEM concepts.

Workplace Gender Equality Compliance Reporting

Under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, Western Sydney University Early Learning has an obligation to improve and promote equality for women and men in the workplace.

WSU Early Learning is also required to report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) annually on a set of standardised reporting matters under six gender equality indicators. The reporting period refers to the 12 months from 1 April to 31 March annually.
