Intersession breaks are the busiest periods for CW&F, and the 2011-2012 intersession break is no exception. A significant number of teaching and learning space upgrades are scheduled for this time of year, so as to minimise impact of staff and students. To find out what CW&F activities and initiatives are currently underway on your campus, visit the current projects webpage.
As of January 2012, there are currently more than 350 projects being designed or delivered across the six UWS campuses, including refurbishments, reconfigurations, upgrades, extensions, adaptive re-use works, space consolidation projects and environmentally sustainable initiatives.
The list of higher profile projects currently underway includes:
One of our 2012 initiatives is to continue incorporating environmental sustainable design elements into the design phase of our projects, with the view to seeking Green Star Accreditation in the future. CW&F is committed to reducing the University’s carbon footprint and providing UWS staff, students and visitors with sustainable, fit-for-purpose working, teaching and learning spaces.
2012 will also see an increased focus on energy reduction and stormwater harvesting across the six campuses. Waste reduction and biodiversity management initiatives will continue throughout the year. Refer to the Environmental Management webpage for further information.
Our monthly broadcast emails will continue to be sent out throughout 2012 by our Campus Managers—keep an eye out for those to stay up-to-date with CW&F’s activities and initiatives on your campus.
