Construction of building U10, a new teaching facility

Schematic drawing of new teaching building for UWS College on Blacktown campus

A new two-storey five-star Greenstar rated teaching facility is being constructed for UWSCollege on the Nirimba Education Precinct, Blacktown campus, to accommodate the existing student numbers and additional student load expected in years to come. The new building is being constructed adjacent to buildings U3 and U4, close to the centre of the UWSCollege facilities on the campus and in place of vacant residential buildings U5, U6 and U7. It will incorporate flat-floor teaching space and a 400-seat lecture theatre.

The installation of the roof is now complete and the installation of the windows is well underway. The services reticulation works is nearing completion on the ground floor and progressing well on level one. The building is expected to reach the lock-up stage in late August 2013.

This project is co-funded by UWS and the Federal Government’s Structural Adjustment Fund/Educational Investment Fund.

Scheduled completion date: 31 January 2014
