Penrith Hockey Centre upgrade - stage one

Penrith Hockey Centre upgrade

The Penrith Hockey Centre upgrade is being completed in two stages. Stage one involved refurbishing the wet and dry hockey pitches on the Penrith campus, Kingswood.

The sand pitch was refurbished prior to the commencement of the hockey season in mid-April 2012. The works for the main pitch commenced in early April and, after numerous rain delays and issues with ground conditions, were completed in October 2012.

Stage two of the Penrith Hockey Centre upgrade will involve refurbishing the existing Hockey Centre facilities and amenities.

Development of additional student accommodation – stage 2

New student residences on Penrith campus, KingswoodThree three-storey residential buildings have been constructed on Penrith campus, Kingswood, to provide an additional 101 beds for students complete with common living areas and a shared laundry. The new student residences were constructed adjacent to the student residences completed in January 2010. A primary outdoor space between the new and existing residences is a focal point, providing for outdoor social gatherings and completing the student village on the campus.

Buildings I and K external upgrade and landscaping, and civil works - stage two

Buildings I and K external upgrade and landscapingStage 2 of this project involved extending the existing solar shutters on building K to the northern side of building K and around to building I. A new accessible ramp and stairs were also constructed between buildings I and K.

Installation of new hydrants and fire main and associated remedial works

New domestic water, hydrant, natural gas ring main and IT conduits for Penrith campus, KingswoodThe existing water and fire mains on Penrith campus, Kingswood, are being upgraded to improve the reliability of the services on the campus and allow for future expansion and growth. The ring main has been designed in consultation with the Penrith campus Masterplan.

After a 14 month program of works, this project is nearing completion.

Access restrictions: If trenching across roads and paved areas is required, way-finding signs and/or a traffic control system will be provided.

Building connections: services cut-over to the new infrastructure have commenced and will continue through to the end of August 2012. Building occupants will be consulted via email regarding any service interruptions associated with these works.

Refurbishment of building I for Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students)

Refurbishment of building I for PVC (Students)The existing office accommodation on level 2 of building I has been completely refurbished to provide the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) with contemporary office accommodation that suits their business requirements.

The newly refurbished space includes an entry foyer, reception desk, waiting area, individual offices, open-plan workstations, meeting rooms, an informal meeting space, tea/coffee facilities, store-rooms and amenities.
