Dr Magdalena Zolkos is Research Fellow in Political Theory with the Centre for Citizenship and Public Policy.

I am a political theorist who works on the politics of collective memory and legacies of historical trauma in European contexts.  I am interested in the emergence of democratic community after catastrophe and in how ideas of justice and responsibility contribute to such community.  My work brings together political theory, subjective testimony, visual cultural production and literary narrative.

I study the intersections of subjective life, collective imagining and politics that follow on from the experience of collective trauma, violence and injustice.
