What kinds of information do your children need to know about sexuality and relationships?
Are you wondering how to talk to them about these issues?
How can you as a parent/carer help your children to be well informed, learn respect and be safe?
Associate Professor Kerry Robinson and Professor Moira Carmody from the Diversities, Ethics and Education Research Group at the University of Western Sydney (UWS), along with Dr Sue Dyson from the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at the Latrobe University, are undertaking research exploring how parents, educators and primary aged children develop skills in ethical and respectful relationships and understand sexual knowledge.
There is an online survey for parents and carers of primary aged children. The survey covers general questions about educating children about sexual knowledge and ethical relationships and parenting practices in these areas. It also covers parents’ and carers’ experiences in these areas in their own childhoods.
If you would like to get involved, please fill out our online survey at Building Ethical Relationships Early in Life: Survey for Parents (opens in a new window)or email Georgia Ovenden at g.ovenden@uws.edu.au
