The Centre for Educational Research is an active hub for those interested in research that makes a difference in the educational lives of children and adults. Our researchers work across the lifespan with early childhood settings, primary and secondary schools, and post-school educational institutions and workplaces. We focus on research that has real-world impact and improves education for all, but particularly for diverse, disadvantaged and marginalised communities.

We are leaders in developing and delivering up-to-date evidence-based professional learning for educators through our ‘Education Knowledge Network’, improving their professional knowledge and practice across a broad range of topics. We employ a range of innovative methodologies to rigorously evaluate educational initiatives, ensuring that efforts to improve education are effective across diverse contexts. Our researchers are sought after to consult with our stakeholders in schools, communities and industry, to share their expertise with a focus on improved educational outcomes.
