Internships and work experience is a great way to get ahead of your peers. There are a range of internships across all disciplines which provides you with the skills and experience necessary to compete in the graduate market.
We offer two types of internship placements:
Get access to the latest paid internships, relevant to your degree. Check out our range of career workshops(opens in a new window)to give yourself the best chance in landing an internship.
Local Internships
Work on a specific project or complete on-going work for an organisation full or part time. Over 60% of students gain on-going work from their placement. Our internships may even count for internship or engagement units within some courses - please check with your course advisor.
International Internships
Take advantage of the opportunity to gain international work experience with leading global companies. We promote opportunities for Engineering, Business and Journalism internships in China, India and Nepal for students to undertake over the summer vacation.
Not only will successful students receive a $3000 grant to work in another country but also have the opportunity to explore and experience another culture!
In 2011-2012 students worked at the following organisations:
Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you - create one for yourself. The DIY Work Experience Guide, including the online Student Insurance Request Form, can be found on CareerHub(opens in a new window)under 'Info Sheets' then 'Planning your Career'.
Please note: Careers & Cooperative Education is able to provide insurance only for unpaid, degree-relevant work placements with volunteer, not-for-profit and government organisations. The 2009 Fair Work Act currently restricts unpaid work experience in for-profit organisations, which is not a course requirement.
If your work experience or placement is a course requirement you will need to arrange insurance with your School.
