Resources and Facilities

As part of the Action Plan 2008, UWS will develop a register of resources and facilities available to schools. This will include a register of academic speakers.

UWS is currently liaising with the NSW Department of Education and Training’s Centre for Learning Innovation about joint projects to provide enhanced online access to educational resources.

We also intend to provide access to the results of school-related research (subject to confidentiality provisions) and relevant UWS Learning and Teaching projects.

Schools can hire uwsconnect sporting facilities on the UWS campuses and gain access to sports programs specifically designed for school groups. Facilities include swimming pools, ovals, an indoor sports hall, athletics track and gym. Schools in Greater Western Sydney are eligible for a discount rate on facilities hire. For more information contact the Connect Fitness Centre on the campus closest to you.

Schools can hire UWS venues. Venues include the auditorium and Female Orphan School at Parramatta campus, an award-winning Conference Centre at the historical Hawkesbury campus, the Hawkesbury Conference Centre Motel, the Playhouse at Penrith campus, and a range of others. Schools in Greater Western Sydney are eligible for a discount of 20% on venue hire. For more information, please see UWS Venues.
