Astronomy for Indigenous Students

A special astronomy program with a series of hands-on activities has been designed for Indigenous students in Years 7 and 8. The program also includes looking through telescopes and the interpretation of the night sky from the point of view of Indigenous astronomy. The program was developed in consultation with members of the Indigenous community and educators.

The aim of the program is to improve the scientific literacy of Indigenous students and encourage them to take up careers in engineering and science.

This progam is run at UWS Observatory at the Werrington North Campus and the School of Engineering's physics laboratories at Kingswood Campus.

If you wish to participate in this program please discuss it with Dr Ragbir Bhathal.
