Associate Professor Tanya Meade

Dr Tanya Covic

Biography

Associate Professor Tanya Meade (previously Covic) is an experienced researcher who was awarded a PhD in 2001 from the University of Sydney in the area of psychosocial aspects of rheumatoid arthritis.

Her research interests are in the area of clinical and health psychology, and specifically, complex physical and mental health co-morbidities (pain and depression in rheumatoid arthritis; pregnancy in the context of a chronic condition, depression and cognitive function in older adults) and various aspects of deliberate self-harm (assessment, function and comorbidities).

She is currently working on ARC and Beyond Blue funded projects and supervises five PhD candidates. Associate Professor Meade regularly presents at international conferences and is a reviewer for a number of journals.

She is a registered psychologist, a member of the Australian Psychological Society and is the Chair of the College of Health Psychologists, NSW Branch. She also holds a Research Fellow position with the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney.
