UNE Partnership

UWS and the University of New England (UNE) have collaborated to offer you a broad range of units via distance education. UNE is a national leader in distance education, offering a wide range of online units. UWS academics have selected a pool of these units to offer as pre-approved partnership units.

This flexible study option means you can apply to study one or more of the partnership units by distance and, when you successfully complete the unit, academic credit will automatically be applied to your university record.

How can I apply?

UWS academic staff have selected UNE units that complement UWS elective units and have made all the arrangements with UNE, including making sure the UNE partnership units are charged at that same rate as UWS units.

Applications to study during UNE’s third trimester are now open online.

If you wish to apply for UNE Cross Institutional Studies, you must complete an online application by the advertised closing date (opens in a new window).

Which UNE units can I study?

Please visit the UNE Trimester 3 Partnership units page to see the units that are available to you in the next session.

Requests to study other UNE units (which have not been pre-approved) or units offered by other universities must be made using the standard cross institutional study process. For more information, please see the Cross Institutional study webpage.

When can I enrol?

Information on how to enrol will be sent to you by UNE before the commencement of each UNE trimester.

Where can I find more information?

If you are considering enrolling in a UNE unit, please contact your Head of Program/Academic Course Advisor for advice about any prerequisites/corequisites, credit points and how the unit fits in with your UWS course.

Remember that you can choose units from other UWS courses as electives, simply visit the UWS Handbook for information on units available.
