Student Welfare Service

The Student Welfare Service has professionally trained staff to help you work through the unexpected problems that sometimes catch you by surprise.

Academic advocacy, advice and support


Examples of support provided include:

  • Help with applications, such as Special Consideration, Review of Grade
  • Support at misconduct hearings

Financial support and advice


Examples of areas of support include:

  • Textbook vouchers
  • Student loans
  • Woolworths food vouchers
  • Support with Centrelink issues or assistance in applying for benefits
  • Financial support workshops

Referral to other services


Sometimes you might need to seek assistance from other services, such as counselling or a government agency. The welfare officers can help you with information and advice about where to go, as well as providing the support needed to access the right services.
