Results FAQs
Results questions
How will I receive my results?
Autumn results will be sent to students' email accounts in the second week of July.
When will I receive my results?
Results emails will be sent out towards the end of the second week of July. All students will receive their results via email by Monday, 15 July.
Can I still view my results in MySR?
Results will be available in MySR on Monday, 15 July, once all results emails have been sent to students.
Why can’t I see my results?
If you have an encumbrance on your student record, you will not see your results in your email or in MySR. If an encumbrance was placed on your record, an email notification would have automatically been sent to your UWS student email account. Check your email account for this email, which includes instruction on how to have the encumbrance lifted.
Results for previous study sessions will not be displayed in your email or on your results page in MySR. To see previous session’s results in MySR go to:
- Course & Unit details (listed under the ‘Course Details’ heading)
- Click on ‘show details’ under the course code you want to see results for
- Then click on the units for the course
I got an "I", "J" or "N" grade. What does that mean?
I = Incomplete (assessment tasks incomplete due to illness or misadventure)
J = Deferred exam (due to illness or misadventure, with formal approval granted for the student to sit an alternative to the formal scheduled exam)
N = Result pending (grade still to be finalised)
For a full list of grades, please view the Results webpage.
I can't see my results but can see my credit points have changed yet my GPA hasn't? What does this mean? From this I think I have failed a unit. How will I know?
You will need to wait for your results. Results will be sent to all students’ email accounts in the second week of July. Results will also be available in MySR on Monday, 15 July.
If I am not happy with my results, what can I do?
Firstly speak to your Unit Coordinator. If you are unable to resolve the matter you can apply for a Review of Grade. All Review of Grade applications are made through eForms, which is available under the MyUWS Links menu in MyUWS. You should read the Review of Grade information before submitting your application.
How long do I have to submit a Review of Grade?
Closing date for Review of Grade applications for Autumn 2013 is 5pm Friday, 26 July 2013.
Why has my GPA dropped?
GPAs are calculated over the duration of your enrolment involving a specific calculation. This calculation uses the number of units, grades achieved and unit credit points. For example, if you have done poorly in a unit carrying more than 10 credit points, it will have a greater impact on your GPA than a unit of only 10 credit points.
How is my GPA calculated?
GPA = the sum of (credit points for the same specific unit x grade points for the specific unit)/total number of credit points attempted.
Please view the Graduation policy for more GPA information.
I didn't receive my results email by 15 July 2013. What does this mean?
If you didn’t receive your results email by 15 July, there may have been a technical problem with the system. From 15 July, you can check your results in MySR.
Technical difficulties
I am experiencing difficulties accessing my results on MySR
Results will be available in MySR by 15 July. If your results are not displaying on or after this date, MySR may be experiencing a temporary load issue.

Enrolment questions
I have failed one (or more) units. Can I reenrol? How do I reenrol?
Provided you have not failed a progression rule, you will be able to reenrol if the unit is offered in the next session. You must meet any pre-requisites and/or co-requisites needed for the unit.
If you are eligible to reenrol, please do so through MySR. However, you should meet with your Director of Academic Program or Academic Course Advisor to discuss your course progression and seek advice regarding your studies.
The Learning and Teaching Unit organises and runs a variety of programs and courses to develop students' academic literacy, mathematics and study skills. Review all the services available.
I have already enrolled for next session, however one of my units now says INVALID. What does that mean?
You have most likely failed a pre-requisite or co-requisite that is required to be completed before enrolment in this unit. You should seek academic advice on an alternate unit to enrol in.
All the units I am enrolled in for the next session have been cancelled/discontinued. Why?
You may have failed a progression rule and you should monitor your student email for advice on your progression.

I have received a progression email. What do I do now?
Your progression email will state whether you are 'At Risk', on 'Conditional Enrolment' or if you have been 'Excluded'. The email also contains detailed instructions regarding the next steps to take.
You may have received more than one progression outcome email. This is because you have failed multiple progression rules. Please note the highest progression status will be applied to you. For example, if you have received a 'Conditional Enrolment' notification and an 'At Risk of Exclusion' notification, the 'Conditional Enrolment' outcome will be applied. The 'At Risk of Exclusion' notification is provided to alert you to your potential exclusion at the end of the next session.
The University has a range of support services for students that can help.
If you still have questions please call the Student Central Infoline on 1300 668 370.
My progression email says I'm going to lose access to my MyUWSAccount. What does this mean?
Your MyUWSAccount gives you access to all UWS systems (including MyUWS, MySR, PlatformWeb, vUWS etc) while you’re a current UWS student. Once your enrolment is discontinued, you can only access these systems for another 90 days. We will send an email to your UWS student email account advising you of the exact date your access will cease.
I have received an email telling me my course has concluded, but I am still enrolled. Does this mean I have failed a unit?
This email would have come from an automatically generated email that should have been put on hold. Please review your results when they are released and check your student email account for more information after this time.
