Online Advanced Standing
What is Advanced Standing?
Advanced Standing is recognition of prior learning in terms of experience and/or studies. When you apply for Advanced Standing, we will assess your prior learning and may award you Advanced Standing in the course in which you are currently studying in recognition of what you have achieved. You can find more information on the Advanced Standing webpage.
Completing your online application
- Log into MyUWS and click the 'eForms' link on the left menu.
- You will then enter a system called the 'eForms Centre'. Click the 'Find Forms' button, then select 'Advanced Standing' form from the list of online forms available
- The form will then open as an Adobe PDF. You will need Adobe Acrobat on your PC for this to happen. Adobe Acrobat is freeware, which can be downloaded from Adobe
- Complete and submit the form online. You will receive an email (to your student email account) acknowledging that your application has been successfully submitted
- You will also receive an email notification advising you of the outcome of your request. Please allow up to 8 weeks for this to happen. Most requests will be completed much faster than this, but we need to allow time for your Head of Program to assess your request

How to submit your supporting documentation

If you need to supply hard copies of your documents, you can post them to the University. If this is the case, you will need to select this option when you complete your online form. Once you submit your Advanced Standing application, an email will be sent to your MyMail (student email) account with instructions on how to submit your supporting documentation by post.
You must submit all of your supporting documentation at the same time using only one of the methods outlined above.
