Student Textbook Subsidy

To support you in your study for 2013, UWS is providing continuing students with a $50 textbook subsidy for books purchased at uwsconnect.

Eligibility

All students who were enrolled at UWS in 2012 AND are continuing their course or commencing a new course at UWS in 2013 are eligible to receive the $50 textbook subsidy. This includes continuing undergraduate, postgraduate, domestic, international, SGSM, Unitrack, non-award and UWS College Diploma and Foundation students, who studied at UWS last year. Students must enrol in one or more units in 2013 before they can use their subsidy.

Eligible students will receive an email and letter advising how they can use their subsidy.

What the subsidy can be spent on

In a survey conducted in 2012, many students said they wanted discounts or subsidies for on-campus expenses, such as textbooks and food and beverages.

The subsidy is primarily to assist students purchasing textbooks.

However, we understand that not all students may need to purchase a textbook this session. To ensure all students benefit, you can use your $50 subsidy to purchase any of the following at a uwsconnect outlet:
  • Textbooks
  • Stationery
  • Connect Fitness membership or classes
  • uwsconnect sporting or recreational activities
  • First aid courses
  • Uniforms

If you are using your subsidy at a Connect Central retail outlet, you can also purchase food and beverage items to help round out the total to $50.

Please note that the subsidy cannot be used to purchase any items not listed above (such as UWS merchandise or giftware), and cannot be used for online purchases or at uwsconnect cafes or restaurants.

Connect Books price matching

To ensure you can buy your textbooks at the best possible price, Connect Books is now price matching. If you find a textbook at an Australian store (must be in-store, not online) for a cheaper price than it would be at Connect Books after your 10% student discount, Connect Books will match the price. Conditions apply – visit the Connect Books website (opens in a new window) to find out more.
