Who can attend a Bridging Program?

All UWS students can attend any Bridging Program. You'll need to make sure you've activated your MyUWSAccount before you can register.

Do Bridging Programs cost?

All Bridging Programs are free for all UWS students.

Can I cancel once I've registered for a program?

Yes you can. Just check the 'My Registrations' section of the registration system or send an email to unistep@uws.edu.au.

I want to attend UniStep Academic Literacy. The program runs from 22 July - 26 July, can I attend any day I like?

UniStep Academic Literacy is a five day program. You should attend every day.

I have to drop my child/children at school and pick them up, so I'll need to arrive late and leave early every day. Can I still attend?

Yes, but you should tell your teacher so they can give you any information you might miss.

What if I can't attend every day?

You should talk to your teacher and let them know about your absences so they can give you any information you might miss.

The My Course Planning session for my course is on during the bridging program I want to attend. What should I do?

It is important that you attend the My Course Planning session, which is often compulsory. You can take time out during the Bridging Program to attend.

The Orientation session for my campus is on during the Bridging Program I want to attend. What should I do?

It is important that you attend Orientation session. You can take time out during the Bridging Program to attend.

What do I need to bring?

You should bring a pen and some paper. You might need some extra things for some programs, such as a ring binder or calculator. A list of what you need to bring will be sent to your MyMail (student email) account along with the confirmation of your registration.

What is the difference between UniStep Academic Literacy and AcPrep?

UniStep Academic Literacy is a five day intensive program, while AcPrep is a two day program. UniStep Academic Literacy covers a lot more material than AcPrep.

International AcPrep is a one day program for international students and covers valuable information and practical experience of academic expectations at UWS.

I am interested in attending a Bridging Program for Chemistry or Biology. Are any on offer?

The School of Science and Health run Bridging Courses for Chemistry and Biology. You can register online for these programs. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Langford on (02) 4570 1838 or at j.langford@uws.edu.au for more information.

What is Unistep Academic Literacy – Blended Delivery? 

This program is a combination of face-to-face classes and online activities. There are 3 classes and the rest of the program is done through an online module each weekday for 9 days. The blended delivery option will still cover the same material as the standard Unistep program.

What do I do if I'm having trouble registering?

Check that you have entered all the information correctly. One of the most common issues is the date of birth field. Make sure it is entered in the correct format. It should be dd/mm/yyyy (01/01/1990), not 01/01/90. If that doesn't fix the problem, email unistep@uws.edu.au from your UWS student email account.

Can I attend a Bridging Program on any campus?

Yes. It doesn't matter where you're enrolled, you can register for any Bridging Program on any campus.
