About the Education Technology Program (ETP)
If you are confused by the University’s online systems, ETP will help you develop skills in using the following facilities and technology.
- Online research or finding resources using the library website
- Learning how to effectively use the campus computer lab and print documents at campus
- How to do tutorial registration and navigate vUWS, the e-learning platform at UWS
- How to use different online tools in vUWS
- How to access podcasts and lectures online in vUWS
ETP is an ongoing collaborative project of the Teaching and Learning Unit, the Library and the Information Technology Services.
ETP Content
The ETP program is delivered via vUWS. It can be conducted face-to-face in the computer lab or online. The program consists of the following four modules:Module 1: About vUWS and how to use vUWS
- Video: What is vUWS and how to navigate around vUWS
- How to access vUWS support
- How to activate MyUWS account and change passwords
- How to use Platform Web to register for tutorials
- How to access computer lab and printing facilities
- How to access the Library online services
- How to use the Library for online research
- How to complete various online tasks in vUWS, such as posting and replying to messages on the discussion board, accessing podcasts and Lectures Online and submitting an assessment online
- Developing online communication skills
Accessing ETP vUWS
- Activate your MyUWSAccount
- The ETP online program is designed for self-directed learning. To self register go to ETP vUWS and use your MyUWSAccount details. It will take 30 minutes to activate your access
Please note: Face to face workshops are only available in the beginning of each semester.
