Who are we?

The Student Legal Services (SLS) is a legal advice and referral service for current students of the University of Western Sydney (UWS). It is a joint venture between Macquarie Legal Centre and UWS.  Legal advice is provided by practicing solicitors from Macquarie Legal Centre.

SLS is co-located at the UWS Parramatta Community Justice Clinic in  Parramatta Local Court.  This service is provided through SSAF funds.

Can we help?

If you are a current student of UWS or UWSCollege* we may be able to help.  

SLS is a legal advice and referral service available to UWS students. If we are unable to assist you with your legal enquiry (for example, if we do not advise on that particular area of law) we may be able to make a referral to a more appropriate service.

The range of services for students will be developed throughout 2013. At present our areas of law include: 

• tenancy
• debt/credit issues
• minor crimes
• consumer rights
• motor vehicle accidents
• traffic offences
• employment law

Monday to Friday
2:00 pm - 5.00 pm

UWS students seeking legal guidance through the SLS may do so by phoning 02 8688 7875 during these times.  

During our telephone sessions you can speak to one of our staff about your legal matter and a solicitor from Macquarie Legal Centre will contact you with legal advice or recommend a referral.

If you phone outside these times you can leave a message which we will return as soon as possible.
