Step 3 Plan your course
There are a number of things you need to do to plan your course (Higher Degree Research students can skip to the next step). These include:
- Check the units in your course (UWS Handbook)
- Go to your My Course Planning session
- Check if your course has special requirements
UWS Handbook (course and unit search)
Check which units are available in your course so you can enrol. If you are starting your course at the beginning of the year, the courses and units on offer at UWS are listed in the UWS Handbook. If you are commencing your studies in Spring session, unit information can be found on the My Course Planning sessions page.
Handbook information is available to help you understand and interpret the UWS Handbook pages.
My Course Planning sessions
My Course Planning (MCP) sessions offer you the opportunity to find out more about your course and receive assistance in selecting units for study or applying for Advanced Standing.
My Course Planning sessions and MySR supported labs are scheduled for local, International and Sydney Graduate School of Management students.
If you're enrolling in the Bachelor of Education (Birth - 5 Years), Master of Teaching (Birth - 5 Years/Birth - 12 Years), Master of Teaching (Primary), Master of Teaching (Secondary), Master of Education (Leadership), Master of Education (Social Ecology) - including Graduate Certificate or the Master of Special Education - including Graduate Certificate, you will need to check the School of Education 2012 commencement dates page for specific information about your MCP session and start date.
Enrolment help
If you would like hands-on help with enrolling online, supported computer labs will be open on the days when My Course Planning sessions are scheduled. Full details will be available on the MySR Supported Labs page in January 2013.
Advanced Standing
Have you studied previously and want to apply for credit? Advanced Standing is recognition of prior learning in terms of experience and/or studies. For more information, go to the Advanced Standing page.
VET/UWS Pathways
Have you completed TAFE study or a course at a Private College?
UWS offers you a range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) Pathways into the university degree you want to complete.
