2009 SYMPOSIUM Governing the Economy: the challenges & the possibilities – November 30, 2009

The Whitlam Institute and the University of Western Sydney School of Economics and Finance are presenting a Symposium to address the contemporary challenges of economic governance for Australia from a variety of institutional perspectives articulated by institutional leaders themselves. Professor Raja Junankar says broad-based tax cuts are no answer

ABC Radio’s PM program ran a story ‘Are tax cuts the answer?’ on 2 February 2009. In it, reporter Stephen Long quoted Prof. Junankar at length especially while referring to the similarities between Opposition’s policy of sweeping tax cuts to increase the tax base and the one followed by the Reagan Administration in the US.
