Early Childhood Teaching Program
Our Early Childhood Teaching Program
Our early childhood courses draw on current research, contemporary approaches to curriculum and new technologies to prepare graduates for teaching in the 21st century. UWS staff are actively engaged in research in Australia and internationally, and teaching and learning is enriched by these experiences. There are many opportunities in our courses for students to engage in field-based experiences in a range of early childhood settings and primary school classrooms and to experience and interact with virtual classrooms through online learning. Our early childhood courses are well recognised for their emphasis on child and family centred practices and strength-based approaches to curriculum. They also have a strong focus on diversity and difference - which includes bilingualism and second language learning, inclusive practices and multiliteracies.
We have courses that are specifically designed for:- students who already have a Diploma of Children’s Services
- school leavers and mature age students, via an innovative pathway through the Bachelor of Social Science

- a graduate with a combined early childhood and primary school teaching qualification (Birth - 12 Years).
