EKN Professional Learning Pathways
Professional Learning Pathway through EKN
Interested in linking your Professional Learning Program to the Master of Education (Leadership) and Graduate Certificate in Education (Leadership)?
Teachers undertaking professional learning courses through the University of Western Sydney Education Knowledge Network can now partially fulfill the requirements for units of study in the Master of Education (Leadership) Program, as follows.
1. Independent Study option:
Teachers who complete EKN professional learning courses can gain credit for this professional learning in the Master of Education (Leadership) Unit of study called Independent Study/ Practice in Context.
Usually students undertaking the Independent Study/ Practice in Context unit in the Master of Education (Leadership) are required to undertake
a) a literature review and
b) a presentation in their area of interest
OR a report of their independent study.
By completing an EKN professional learning course students will be able to gain advanced standing in Independent Study by providing evidence of the literature review and presentation/ report in the area of interest. This enables teachers to build on their professional learning with specific reference to professional learning needs in their own schools and their own individual professional learning plan.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity please contact the Master of Education (Leadership) Program coordinator or the coordinator of the Education Knowledge Network.
