Jana joined UWS as a casual academic in 2007, teaching mathematics in the Primary Education Masters course and the Aboriginal Rural Education Program. Jana became a permanent staff member in January 2009 and has established a profile in early years mathematics education, lecturing in the Early Childhood Program to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Prior to lecturing at university, Jana has had experience over the years working as an early childhood teacher, a primary school teacher and business owner in the finance sector.
Currently a PhD candidate, her research focuses on early childhood teachers’ knowledge of mathematics, and demonstration of this knowledge through the use of physical resources in early childhood settings.
