School Administration Review Phase 3: Project Updates

  • An audit of support to first year students was undertaken in late 2010, with data provided to the PVC L&T. This data will be shared with Schools.
  • The Reference Group has been established, with terms of reference, project scope and communication plan developed and approved.
  • To date, the project manager has met with 15 Schools and 1 Research Centre to discuss how their School/Centre is meeting the recommendations of the review and how they are tracking towards full implementation, with status reports provided to Head of School/Centre Director.
  • Central points of contact have been confirmed for 15 Schools and 1 Research and advised to Student Central.
  • Points of contact for Student Central have been confirmed with Schools.
  • A list of Student Central functions has been sent to Schools for sign off that these are unique functions to Student Central and that Schools will refer students accordingly.
  • Draft terms of reference for the review of timetable processes across UWS have been developed in conjunction with Timetabling Services and will be considered by the Reference Group.
  • A draft position description (PD) for a Technical Officer Web/eLearning has been developed in conjunction with the Director of the Teaching Development Unit, eLearning Manager and with input from a School currently recruiting to this position. The PD has been reviewed by Human Resources and will be considered by the Reference Group at its meeting on 5 May.
  • Issues raised in relation to recommendation 12 (eTan/eRes) have been consolidated, the relevant staff from Finance consulted, and a paper prepared discussing the issues for consideration at the Reference Group meeting on 5 May.
  • Feedback received throughout the review is passed onto relevant areas for consideration.
  • The project manage is keeping the Deputy Registrar informed of progress in relation to those recommendations that impact on the Units within the Registrar’s Office.
  • HEW level data is being consolidated for the Reference Group.
