Project Scope and Statement of Strategic Intent
Develop and implement a strategic leadership and management development program for existing and emerging leaders at UWS to further develop leadership and management capabilities that will help to influence and shape organisational culture and address talent management and succession planning needs. The success of this project will be informed by talent management and succession planning strategies (leadership profiling), the UWS capability development framework and related Our People 2015 projects.
This Project relates to the WPP Objective: Professional development to improve productivity and performance through strengthened management, leadership and governance capability.
Project Objectives
- Develop an innovative leadership and management development framework that aligns with the UWS integrated strategy, desired organisational culture, and key leadership and management capabilities
- Develop a UWS leadership and management capability development framework
- Document and communicate capability development framework
- Develop and implement a capability management system
- Implement the capability development framework aligned to leadership development
- Plan and schedule leadership and management program(s)
- Plan and implement a Learning Management System and online learning modules
- Deliver leadership and management development program(s) using a blended learning approach
- Support and coach leaders and managers to shape and influence desired organisational culture
Achievements to date
- The Company Directors Program commenced with 16 senior staff participants in August 2008.
- 360 feedback program with senior staff is currently underway as at October 2008.
- The Senior Managers Coaching Program proposal has been endorsed by the DVC DCSS and the next stage is to request expressions of interest to provide executive coaching services to UWS.
