Ms Stacy Blythe

Biography


Stacy was appointed as an Associate Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery in 2008. Prior to this she was employed by Sydney West Area Health Service working predominantly in the Intensive Care Unit at Blacktown Hospital. Stacy has also worked as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Infection Control Department of Blacktown Mt Druitt Hospital. Stacy finished her Bachelor of Nursing at UWS, Hawkesbury Campus, in 2002. She graduated with Distinction and was awarded the Dean’s Medal for academic excellence. Stacy was also awarded the University Medal for academic excellence following submission of her Honours thesis which was a systematic review in the area of Dementia. Currently Stacy is the recipient of a fully funded doctoral studies research position, as well as two scholarships. Her research is focussing on women who provide long-term foster care, their experiences and the potential effects on the children and young people in foster care. Her thesis is due to be submitted the end of 2011.
