The UWS Foundational Processes of Behaviour Research Laboratories host world-class research focused on uncovering the fundamental mechanisms of the human brain and behaviour.

We seek to understand human behavior at multiple levels and across time. The multiple levels include outward behavior, brain activity, physiological activity, cognitive behavior, and etc. The group has a heavy focus on experimental methods, which often along the strongest causal conclusions, but also makes heavy use of longitudinal research, which allows casual analyses and understanding of change. Our goal is to  evaluate and develop foundational theories that have scope and depth. Scope means a given analytic concept applies to a range of cases and depth means analytic concepts cohere across well-established scientific domains (e.g., social psychology, individual psychology, cognitive psychology, biology).
