Master of Building Surveying
The Master of Building Surveying provides professionals with the skills and knowledge to assess, evaluate and recommend building solutions. It caters for your need to understand performance-based building code and fire safety engineering principles and is relevant to professionals developing alternative solutions using the Building Code of Australia and the Fire Engineering Guidelines.
The course has been developed in consultation with practising Fire Safety Engineers and Building Surveyors to meet the needs of the building surveying industry.
UWS building surveying courses are one of only two such offerings available in Australia. With a 13 year history, our courses are well-recognised by the building industry.
We take a balanced approach to training in fundamental knowledge and problem solving skills. You will gain an understanding of building regulations, fire engineering principles, building fire services and development control. You will gain knowledge in the practical assessment and approval process adopted by the industry and will also build experience in conducting a project on an individual basis.
The course is taught by leading industrial experts as well as academics in the University, via distance learning.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Master of Building Surveying course may become accredited building surveyors. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge to work in the private sector or in government. As building surveying graduates you may pursue careers as construction project managers or safety inspectors. You may be exposed to more employment opportunities throughout the course.
