Graduate Certificate in Bushfire Protection
The Graduate Certificate in Bushfire Protection caters for the need to understand bushfires and their impact on the natural and built environment. The aims of the course coincide with that of the Federal Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre, which are 'to develop a comprehensive and overarching understanding of the behaviour and danger of bushfires, given local differences in vegetation, land management and weather'.
You will acquire knowledge and understanding of the relevant building regulations for design and development practice. Graduates will be able to provide advice on developments in bushfire prone areas, and assess building designs against the deemed-to-satisfy provisions of the building code and standards. They will also be able to provide advice with respect to bushfire fighting techniques.
