
University admission involves a number of steps from submitting an application form (undergraduate; postgraduate or research), transcripts of academic and English proficiency documents, through to receiving an assessment outcome based on you meeting UWS entry requirement. You will also need to apply for a student visa which you can obtain after receiving a confirmation of enrolment (CoE) from UWS.
International Students Completing Australian Year 12 Qualifications
If you are an international student completing an Australian Year 12 qualification, onshore or offshore, you can lodge your application for courses at UWS online with UAC. Copies of the UAC 2008 International Booklet are available from your school or from UAC.

To accept an Offer of Admission you must sign and return the Acceptance Form that is found in the International Offer Pack. You must also pay your first semester Tuition Fees and any other charges described in the Offer of Admission at this time. The International Offer Pack also provides you with important information about studying at UWS including information about the UWS Orientation Program and accommodation options.
Course fees and refund agreement
It is important to note current course fees that apply to your course of study, and to the UWS Refund Agreement.
Overseas Student Health Cover
Health insurance is compulsory before a student visa is issued. Some international students are eligible for this cover free of charge.
English Language Requirements
All international students must have a good command of written and spoken English. If your first language is English or if you can provide satisfactory evidence that English was the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies.
Pathways and English Colleges
Accredited English for Academic Purposes Programs are offered at Certificate III, IV and Diploma level and have a variety of entry levels for students of varying proficiency. UWSCollege has been established to provide pathways to university and also offers professional courses of study relevant to the workplace.

Academic Requirements
Admission to the University of Western Sydney is highly competitive and is on the basis of academic merit. International students are required to meet the same standards as Australian residents.
Academic Credit / Advanced Standing
The University of Western Sydney has credit transfer agreements in place with a range of Universities and TAFE Colleges in Australia and overseas.
Canada transfer agreements are currently being updated so please check back at a later time.
Scholarships
The Australian Government offers a limited number of 'tuition only' scholarships to Research degree students from most overseas countries.

Education of accompanying dependents
If you come to Australia as an overseas student on a student visa, you should be aware that you will be required to pay full fees for any of your school-aged dependants who accompany you and who are enrolled in either a government or non-government school in Australia.
Use of personal information
If you apply for a course the personal information you provide to UWS may be made available to Commonwealth and State agencies.
