Accept or defer

If you've received an offer to an undergraduate course you can defer your enrolment for 12 or 6 months, depending on whether your offer is for the Autumn (start year) or Spring (mid year) session.

Applications to defer Autumn 2008 studies close on Friday 22 February 2008, and the deferment fee is $100.

• I've received an offer for Autumn (start year)
• I've received an offer for Spring (mid year)
• I've already accepted an offer but now want to defer

I've received an offer for Autumn (start year)

You can defer your offer for twelve (12) months.

1. Log in to our Online Selection and Course Acceptance System (OSCAS) using your UAC application number, surname and date of birth.
2. Check the 'Defer' box next to the program of study you wish to defer.
3. Log out of OSCAS.
4. Go to iPay and search for or scroll down to 'Student Administration - Deferral Fees'. Check the box and click 'Submit'.
5. Click 'Add to Order'.
6. Where prompted, please enter your UAC application number, then click 'Add to Order' (again).
7. Click 'Proceed to purchase order' and complete your payment.

UWS will send you written confirmation in March that your deferment has been processed. Please contact admissions@uws.edu.au if you have not received a reponse from us before census date (31 March) as you may be liable for tuition fees if your deferment has not been processed by that date.

I've received an offer for Spring (mid year)

You are only eligible to defer your studies until the following Autumn session - that is, a total of six months.

1. Log in to our Online Selection and Course Acceptance System (OSCAS) using your UAC application number, surname and date of birth.
2. Check the 'Defer' box next to the program of study you wish to defer.
3. Log out of OSCAS.
4. Go to iPay and search for or scroll down to 'Student Administration - Deferral Fees'. Check the box and click 'Submit'.
5. Click 'Add to Order'.
6. Where prompted, please enter your UAC application number, then click 'Add to Order' (again).
7. Click 'Proceed to purchase order' and complete your payment.

I've already accepted an offer but now want to defer

If you have already accepted your offer and enrolled, you must submit your deferment request in writing together with a copy of your iPay deferment receipt to:

You'll receive written notification of your deferment in March for Autumn session deferment, or August for Spring deferment. Please contact admissions@uws.edu.au if you have not received a reponse from us before census date (31 March/August) as you may be liable for tuition fees if your deferment has not been processed by that date.
