Your Gift in Kind Can Make a Difference
The University of Western Sydney will gratefully receive a range of non monetary gifts, commonly referred to as gifts in kind. Examples of gifts in kind include real estate, artwork, special equipment and other tangible personal property. These may be gifts that enhance an academic department or an existing UWS collection.
Gifts in Kind make a difference at the University of Western Sydney, as they assist in reducing expenditure while enhancing the cultural experience of our students, staff and visitors.
Gifts in Kind can be a tax efficient way of giving, however certain gifts may be subject to different ATO tax rulings, and each gift is accepted and considered with this in mind.
Your Gift in Kind – Bringing Knowledge to Life
The University of Western Sydney has been the recipient of a diverse range of paintings, works on paper, photographs, mixed media sculptures and ceramics.
The University Art collection is comprised of over 1000 objects, including pieces from some of Australia’s best known artists, work from past and present staff and students from UWS as well as local artists from the Hawkesbury, Macarthur and Nepean regions of Greater Western Sydney.
In October 2002, the estate of Mr Ian Hamilton Lance bequeathed Arthur Boyd’s “Bundanon Quartet” series to the University of Western Sydney. This is a series of four coloured lithographs created in 1991. Boyd is one of Australia’s most famous and respected artists and much of his work is inspired by the Australian landscape, as evident in his work.
