National Institute of Complementary Medicine receives major funding boost
December 2011
A $2 million gift from The Jacka Foundation and support from leading complementary medicine industry partners has provided a major funding boost to the National Institute of Complementary Medicine, based at the University of Western Sydney.
The University has recently formalised an agreement to establish an endowed Professorial Chair in Complementary Medicine with the support of these generous partners.

The funding will give lasting support to NICM and is the result of successful collaboration between a number of partners including primary supporter The Jacka Foundation along with Soho Flordis International, Blackmores and Catalent.
This significant funding will ensure NICM can continue to lead complementary medicine research in the sector and will provide a vital link between researchers, practitioners, industry and government.
The NICM institute was established in 2007 after a need was identified for an agency that could oversee the collaboration of policy development, national research priorities and clinical guidelines by researchers, practitioners, industry stakeholders and government.
