Supporters Recognition Function

March 16 2011
West Wing
Female Orphan School
Parramatta Campus

On the evening of Wednesday 16 March 2011 the University welcomed donors and supporters to the newly refurbished West Wing in the Female Orphan School for the Supporters Recognition Function.

This annual event is a celebration of the generosity of individuals and organisations. Through their contributions, these individuals and organisations make a difference to the lives of our students, the wellbeing of our region and the intellectual capacity of our nation.

The event was hosted by Chairman of the UWS Foundation, Mr John Phillips AO, UWS Vice Chancellor, Professor Janice Reid AM, who were joined by senior academics and staff.

This function was the first public event attended by our newly appointed UWS Chancellor, Professor Peter Shergold AC, who spoke of his passion and commitment for higher education, his vision for UWS and the importance of ‘social investment’ by the community.

Ms Natalie Lukic, the 2011 Cospak Scholarship recipient, shared just some of her personal story; a journey from domestic violence to advocacy for women and the impact the Cospak Scholarship has had on her life.

Mr Phillips and Professor Reid warmly thanked donors and supporters for their continued support of UWS and the difference this makes to the ongoing teaching, learning and research agendas for the University.

We thank you once again for attending and hope you enjoy these photos from the evening.
