UWS Students Gather for 2011 Scholarship Ceremony
Students Gather for 2011 Scholarship Ceremony
September 2011
On 30 September more than 100 UWS students proudly gathered with family and friends at the University of Western Sydney Parramatta campus for the 2011 Scholarship Ceremony.
The Ceremony acknowledged the achievements and dedication shown by students, with 235 scholarships awarded in 2011. UWS offers a wide range of scholarships, funded by both the University and through the ongoing and generous support of our donors which include individuals and organisations, from local businesses to large corporations, trusts and foundations and local councils.
Mr Richard Carmont, Managing Director of ADCO Constructions and scholarship donor spoke passionately about the importance of local businesses supporting the community. ADCO Constructions have been proud supporters of UWS students since 2009 through the Rotary Club of Narellan Scholarship.
UWS Bachelor of Science student and Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship recipient Sanjidah Mostafa also spoke at the event about the inspiration her scholarship has given her. Sanjidah wants to create change for good in the world and, with the help of her scholarship, is already planning the small steps she can take to make a difference in her local, western Sydney community.
UWS would like to offer its sincere thanks to all donors and partners for their continued support in 2011. These gifts recognise the achievements of our student and provide them with the encouragement they need to reach their full potential.
