Oxfam Australia

Oxfam Australia thanks UWS staff for their amazing and ongoing support over the past 12 months through UWS Staff Giving.

Oxfam East Africa Appeal updateThrough UWS Staff Giving you are a part of the Oxfam community made up of our expert staff in the field and the amazing women, men and children we work with around the world. Together we empower communities to find their own solutions to poverty, improve their way of life, and create better opportunities for their children. Our impact is made greater thanks to our supporters.

East Africa Appeal update

A year ago, Oxfam announced the East Africa food crisis appeal, asking for donations to support our response to this massive emergency. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters including staff at UWS, we’ve been able to reach more than 2.8 million people across Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia with safe water, sanitation, cash and other support.

Northcott Disability Services

Northcott Disability Services is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support to more than 10,000 children and adults living with a disability and their families and carers across NSW and the ACT. UWS staff have played an important part in this development, contributing to the cause for several years now through a number of initiatives.

Supporting 10,000 people with disabilities, their families and carers across NSW and the ACTAll funds raised through UWS Staff Giving have been put towards Northcott’s Western Sydney Therapy Team, which provides speech pathology and occupational therapy services to children aged up to 18 who have significant and/or complex needs. The service promotes a family-centred approach that supports clients as they integrate into the preschool and school system.

A huge thank you to staff and students from UWS. It is only through this kind of support that Northcott can continue to empower children and adults with disabilities across the state.

RSPCA NSW

RSPCA NSW is dedicated to defending animal dignity and fighting to stop cruelty. We provide shelter, education, medical attention and love, and provide support to individuals with animals who need it. We receive less than 2% of our funding from the government and rely almost entirely on the goodwill of our loyal supporters.

RSPCA NSW education programsDonations through UWS Staff Giving have assisted RSPCA NSW to take in over 40,000 animals, investigate over 12,000 cruelty complaints and educate over 50,000 students about animal care in 2011.

RSPCA NSW also advocates both human and animal welfare through a number of Community Support Programs. Each program targets a specific demographic and combats a particular social issue. No RSPCA community service program receives ongoing government funding, these services are reliant on donations like those through UWS Staff Giving.
