If every UWS staff member gave just $5 per fortnight, with UWS matched funding, 100 more students could be supported each year.

How it works

The following examples show how regular gifts can help your chosen cause and provide tax benefits to you.

Example 1: Frank has a taxable income of $65,000 and decides to donate $10 per fortnight through UWS Staff Giving. Frank's taxable income is reduced and the tax saving is $3 per fortnight. The net impact on Frank's take home pay is the difference between the amount of the donation and the tax saving. Annually, the cause Frank is supporting will receive $260 while the net cost to Frank is $182.

And if Frank supports scholarships for UWS students, UWS will also give $260.

Example 2: Donna has a taxable income of $70,000 and decides to tonate $10 per fortnight through UWS Staff Giving. Donna's taxable income is reduced resulting in a tax saving of $3 per fortnight. Annually, the charity will receive $260 while the net cost to Donna is $182. The following year, Donna decides to increase her fortnightly donation to $20. Donna's fortnightly saving is $6. Annually, the charity will receive $520 and the net cost to Donna will be $364.

And if Donna supports scholarships for UWS students, UWS will give a further $520.
