Antonious Nehme
Antonious Nehme is in his second year of the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Law at the University of Western Sydney’s Parramatta and Bankstown campuses.
Antonious’ family migrated from Lebanon to set up a life in Australia and when he graduates he will be the first in his family to hold a university qualification – an achievement that his father tells us makes him very proud.
His journey to and during university has included caring for his sick parents and brother, as well as overcoming his own health setbacks while juggling part time work. All these factors have contributed to the financial pressure of attending university.
‘I am very excited and enthusiastic about receiving a UWS Community Scholarship as it will greatly help me to spend more time at home looking after my parents and my brother.’
‘The scholarship will allow me to finish me degree without financial hassles, which will in turn allow me to achieve my goal of becoming a prosecutor.’
