December graduations
Who is invited to graduate in December?
The December round of graduation ceremonies is the smallest round of ceremonies at UWS. Students must meet a strict set of criteria to be invited to graduate during the December round.
To receive an invitation, you must:
- Be enrolled in a course code that the University has selected to participate in December graduations
- Have completed your course or be waiting for your final (Spring) results release for your course
Which courses have been selected to participate in the December 2013 graduation round?
The list of participating courses will be available later in the year. Check back around October for more information.
What are the detailed criteria to be eligible for December graduations (in addition to the above)
If you receive an invitation to take part in the December graduation round, you still need to have completed the below steps/met the below criteria in order to be able to graduate in December.
- Apply to graduate through MySR and paid relevant graduation fee (after receiving the invitation to graduate in December)
- Due to the tight timeframe between the final Spring Session exams and the December graduation ceremonies, there can be no extension beyond the Spring results release for any reason
- Please note, if you apply for a deferred exam, supplementary assessment, review of grade, enrolled in Quarter 4 or still have advanced standing or course transfer details still pending, you will not be eligible to participate in the December graduation ceremonies
- Meet all course requirements and have your student record finalised as per the advertised graduation deadlines
- Have no fees owing to the university
- Due to the short turnaround times, confirmation of eligibility and ceremony details will not be available until 1 week before the ceremonies take place (it is not possible to provide this information earlier). If this is too short notice for you, please apply for April graduation ceremonies
If you apply to graduate in December graduation round but are not eligible, you will automatically be transferred to the following April round of ceremonies. You don’t need to apply for both December and April rounds.
I want to participate in the December graduation ceremonies but have not received an invitation. How can I get an invitation?
December graduation is only open to a small cohort of Schools and students determined by the University. If you have not received an invitation unfortunately you will not be able to participate in the December graduation ceremonies. Please apply to graduate in April through MySR (via MyUWS).
