On the day

Arrival and before the ceremony

You need to arrive and record your name at the registration desk no later than 90 minutes before the beginning of your ceremony. If you have not registered by this time, you may not be on the attendance list for inclusion in the ceremony. Do not forget to allow time to collect your regalia.

After you have registered, you will be provided with your seat allocation and guest tickets, and will be able to collect your regalia.

Please note the following:

Graduands that arrive after the commencement of the ceremony may not be permitted to participate.
Guests need to arrive approximately one hour prior to the commencement of the ceremony to ensure entry to the auditorium and collection of tickets.
A maximum of four tickets are issued to each graduand. A viewing screen is available in the foyer for any additional guests.

Parking

On-site parking is available at no cost on the day of your graduation ceremony.

During the ceremony

During the ceremony you will be asked to stand as graduands and your award will be conferred. You will then be called, row-by-row, to await individual presentation in sequence. It is important that you remain in your allocated seat to ensure your name is called in the correct order.

On the day, we will provide you with a demonstration on the protocol for receiving your award.

Points to observe on the day

Guests should be at the auditorium entrance door no later than 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony and will be seated shortly after. Guests that arrive after the ceremony has commenced may not be admitted to the auditorium.
The ceremony will take approximately 1-2 hours.
All guests are requested to remain in the auditorium until the conclusion of the ceremony.
Due to fire regulations, strollers are not permitted in the auditorium, however storage is available at the information desk.
Children over the age of two MUST occupy their own seat and count as a guest for ticketing.
If you have hired your regalia, please ensure it is returned no later than 45 minutes after the completion of your ceremony or extra charges will apply.

Graduation services

Floral Services - a florist will be available on the day. Floral arrangements and cut flowers can be purchased on the day of the ceremony.

Memorabilia - a wide range of gift items will be available for sale before and after each ceremony. These items have been designed for graduates of UWS, carry the University name and where possible the logo.

Food available on the day of your graduation

Light refreshments - will be served in the marquee opposite the auditorium for graduates and their guests on the day of graduation.

Bakehouse - treat yourself for a quick bite to eat. There's great coffee, gourmet pies, delicious pastries and more.

Boilerhouse - celebrate graduation in style at the new table service restaurant specialising in Asian cuisine. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, a coffee or a drink at the bar.

Graduating 'in absentia'

If you are unable to attend your ceremony, you will graduate 'in absentia' and your testamur and transcript will be sent to you pending payment through iPay. The 'in absentia' fee is AUD$15.00 for postage within Australia or AUD$30.00 for postage overseas.
